Hennion & Walsh Helps Raise Over $30,000 for Gift of Life Family House

Philadelphia-Based Non-Profit Provides Lodging, Support and Critical Resources to Transplant Patients and Their Family Members

PARSIPPANY, N.J. - May 24, 2010 - Hennion & Walsh, one of the nation's premier providers of investment services and an advocate for individual investors, hosted Jackson's 6th Annual Mulligan on Life Golf Outing on Monday, May 17, to benefit the Gift of Life Family House. The Philadelphia-based non-profit organization provides lodging, support services and critical resources to transplant patients and their families. The event raised approximately $30,000 for this worthwhile cause.

The Mulligan on Life outing is named for Jackson Heller, an eight-year-old boy who was diagnosed in 2002 with a rare liver disease, biliary atresia. The Heller family saw firsthand the need for support for transplant patients and their families, not only in terms of lodging, but also as it relates to understanding the unique concerns of transplant patients. For example, while the Hellers were able to stay at the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House, they had questions about medication and infections that other families weren't necessarily dealing with.

Jackson's father, Gregg, has worked for Hennion & Walsh since 1995. The company worked with Gregg to allow him to have as much time off as possible to spend with his family during the three months his son spent in the hospital. Since Jackson's successful transplant, Hennion & Walsh has continued to support organ donation through a variety of means. To this end, the company has a made a multiple-year commitment to funding a Family Entertainment Lounge at the Gift of Life Family House and has raised more than $50,000 for that effort in the past two years.

"We saw firsthand the need for resources for families of transplant patients and we've made it our goal to help the Gift of Life Family House in their mission of providing that support and service," said Richard Hennion, Partner at Hennion & Walsh. "The annual golf outing is a chance to bring together family and friends of the Heller family, celebrate Jackson's second chance at life and raise organ donor awareness while supporting the Gift of Life Family House," added Bill Walsh, Partner at Hennion & Walsh.

The event included a day of golf, lunch, cocktails and dinner at the Brooklake Country Club in Florham Park, N.J., and attracted 120 golfers. All proceeds from the event were donated to the Gift of Life Donor Program, which has helped coordinate more than 29,000 life-saving transplants along with approximately 300,000 tissue transplants and has become an internationally recognized center for training and education for transplant professionals through its Gift of Life Institute. The Gift of Life Donor Program oversees the Gift of Life Family House.
