Hi, My Name Is... Facebook!

Some people are calling their kids "facebook", now how's that? And you better be on the look out for liars, very especially on the physical product e-stores.

Hey,

Brian R. Bringing you only the best of the internet.

Don't be afraid of taking a look at the source.

If you are one of those that is willing to say anything, make up any piece of BS just to sell a product, you better read this. In the future, your honesty will become your edge over the competition.

-------------------

In the affiliate world, it's extremely common to see affiliates basically making up any and every claim imaginable to get that ever so sweet affiliate commission. "It doesn't matter right... the advertiser will have to deal with it," seems to be the mindset of many affiliates. I hated that.

The more I delve into the world of e-commerce I am realizing that the same marketing lies that are used to sell customers in the affiliate world are also fairly commonly used in e-commerce.

I guess it all comes down to one thing... greed.
Greed is what compels certain people to do whatever it takes to make that sale including falsely leading the customer.

In the niche I am in for e-commerce, I see a common trend on all the big sites. They all mislead customers with features that don't exist. How can they get away with it?

If you have a good headline and a good C2A, you have half of the sale, but how do you do it?

I found a really nice concise article on the matter.

Your headline is the first, and perhaps only, impression you make on a prospective reader. Without a headline or post title that turns a browser into a reader, the rest of your words may as well not even exist.
But a headline can do more than simply grab attention. A great headline can also communicate a full message to its intended audience, and it absolutely must lure the reader into your body text.

At its essence, a compelling headline must promise some kind of benefit or reward for the reader, in trade for the valuable time it takes to read more.
In The Copywriter's Handbook, copywriter Bob Bly sets forth eight time-tested headline categories that compel action and rake in sales:

The following is not for the feint of heart, It is something really odd yet mitigated by the circumstances. You most positively and absolutely not believe the following.

Cultural relativity is an amazing thing. While American parents worry about their kids being on Facebook, Egyptian parents are naming their kids "Facebook" to commemorate the events surrounding the #Jan25 revolution.

According to Al-Ahram (one of the most popular newspapers in Egypt) a twenty-something Egyptian man has named his first born daughter "Facebook" in tribute to the role the social media service played in organizing the protests in Tahrir Square and beyond.
Helmed by now-famous Googler Wael Ghonim, the "We Are Khaled Said" Facebook page showed up within 5 days of Said's death in June and served as a hub for dissidence against Egyptian police brutality as well as a way to disseminate logistical information about the escalating anti-government protests until Mubarak's resignation. Other activist pages like one actually called"Tahrir Square" cropped up shortly afterward.

How about that? Seems information is getting the best of weapons, and a proof of that is all the kids named Facebook in egypt.

That's all for today.
