High-Speed Robotic Systems And SmartCart Palletizer To Be Showcased At Pack Expo 2010

Online, October 21, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Ashland, VA - Flexicell, Inc., premier provider of innovative end of line automation for automate case packing and palletizing will exhibit their High-speed Robotic Collating, Robotic Picking and SmartCart Palletizer in booth #3651 during PACK EXPO 2010. The Expo is being held at McCormick Place, Chicago, Illinois October 31 - November 3, 2010.

For 18 years, Flexicell has been integrating robotics for palletizing and food case packaging solutions. The latest invention to be presented at the show floor is the High-speed Robotic Collating, a case packing system in which integrates two different robot models to pack and unpack trays at high-speed. The M-3iA robot individually picks product from within the trays and places them on an infeed belt, which takes them to the high-speed collator. Once they are collated, multiples of product are picked by the M-420iA robot and placed within trays.

Flexicell is to also showcase the High-speed Robotic Picking system that serves as a demo cell from FANUC that simulates the picking of gum packs off a moving production line. The robot locates the randomly oriented product with FANUC's built-in iRVision, then places it onto a second moving line.

The third system to be displayed is the SmartCart Palletizer which uses a FANUC M-410iB/140 robot with two Jervis-Webb SmartCarts® for palletizing (http://www.flexicell.com/palletizing/index.html)and depalletizing cases. The M-410iB robot picks cases from a conveyor and places them directly onto a SmartCart. The SmartCart® then takes the pallet load to the other side of the robot where it will be depalletized in the same manner.
