Hiking Yoga Introduces New Fitness Hybrid To Austin
Yoga, Hiking and a Great Fitness Routine for Locals and Visitors Arrives in Austin and More U.S. Cities in 2011
Online, February 15, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Eric Kipp, a longtime yoga teacher and small business coach, has integrated his two favorite passions into what he calls HIKING YOGA. The combination started in San Francisco as a popular fitness activity that is fun, invigorating and unique. The workout combines the cardio of an outdoor boot camp with the power and grace of yoga. Eric decided to bring this new offering to communities across the country due to positive feedback and demand, thirteen locations now running.
On January 27th, the North Austin location started running yoga hikes in Bull Creek Park, South Austin in Barton Creek Park. Local and visiting customers will be lead through the cities unique blend of nature in a contemporary urban setting. Since Austin isrval reputed to have more yoga studios per capita than any other town, plenty of students are expected to benefit from expanding their practice beyond the routine brick-and-motar studios.
"I created HIKING YOGA to bring fresh air and a new spirit of exploration to the usual yoga practice and workout routine - and to provide an engaging new view of the city for natives and tourists alike." Kipp's out-of-town clients include traveling professionals and vacationers who are thrilled to combine a travel workout with a great tour. After taking a HIKING YOGA class, California's top hotelier Chip Conley said, "I realized that this wasn't just good for me, but it's something good we can offer our guests." HIKING YOGA is offered at Conley's Joie de Vivre Hotels.
Each HIKING YOGA session includes four yoga "stations" designed to stretch, open, and challenge the body. Class size is three to fifteen people and fees range from $20 for one yoga hike to $150 for the 15 Yoga Hikes Package, private and group also available. Kipp's 90-minute workout attracts a varied clientele, from the dedicated yogi/yogini looking for more cardio, to runners who want to stretch and strengthen, to the gym regular seeking freedom from their machines. HIKING YOGA is a blast for tourists looking to see the city in a new and fresh way and to connect with locals.
On January 14th, Eric Kipp spoke at the San Francisco Yoga Journal Conference on Utilizing Social Networking and led yoga hikes. Attendees learned how to leverage Yelp Hiking Yoga Reviews, Facebook, Twitter, TripAdviser, and Groupon to help build their community and business exponentially faster. The event sold out so fast Yoga Journal requested two extra yoga hikes, totaling five groups over three days. HIKING YOGA instructors Greg Molkentin and Christine D'Agostino were added to the conference to lead a yoga hike each.
The interval workout fires up the mind-body connection--outdoor cardio stimulates the senses and heightens physical awareness while yoga quiets the mind and relaxes the body. Health benefits of getting outdoors, breathing fresh air and even connecting with others beats most ordinary workouts. Heading off with a group promotes rich social interaction and human connection. Get the best of both worlds with a great workout that is social, beautiful, educational, and a community builder with Hiking Yoga in Austin, Texas.
