Hinduja Hospital Kicks Off Diamond Jubilee Celebrations

Hinduja Hospital kick started its Diamond Jubilee celebrations with a free medical camp for senior citizens of Mumbai. The camp was inaugurated by Mr Subodh Kumar, Municipal Commissioner of Mumbai and was attended by over 250 people.

Hinduja Hospital, a not-for-profit institution, commenced its diamond jubilee celebrations by organising a medical camp for elderly residents living in the immediate vicinity of the hospital, on 10th & 11th. It was a gesture of thanksgiving by the renowned tertiary care multi specialty hospital which began it's journey as a small OPD Clinic on 10th December 1951. The setting of the free medical camp was a neighborhood garden and the procedure included extensive diagnostic tests followed by consultations by senior doctors.

Sri Subodh Kumar, Municipal Commissioner, Mumbai who inaugurated the camp complimented the institution for the good work it has been doing for the community.

Chairman, Sri S.P.Hinduja took a keen interest in the Photo Gallery and shared some anecdotes from the past. Speaking on the occasion, he said, "60 years ago our father, Shri P.D.Hinduja, started this hospital to provide affordable, quality healthcare for all. I am proud to see the Hinduja Hospital parivaar of trustees, management, doctors, nurses & staff working with full dedication live upto his vision".

Mr.A.P.Hinduja, Trustee, felicitated the chief guest and said: "Hinduja Hospital is like a temple for our family. It is a matter of great satisfaction for us to see that 60 years on this institution is operating according to his belief that health & education are the fundamental rights of every citizen"

Mr. Kini, an active senior citizen from the vicinity complimented the Hospital for its positive role and 'community connect' initiatives. He pointed out that the health check would have cost an individual substantially.

Old images in the Photo Gallery caught the interest of all visitors. The photographs covered a wide spectrum of subjects, with which hospital was associated over past 6 decades, like people, celebrities and events; Bhuj earth quake, visit of Rajiv Gandhi and Dalai Lama...just to name a few

Said Pramod H. Lele, CEO, Hinduja Hospital: "It is our belief that a healthcare institution has to become part of the life of the community it serves. We also wanted to stress upon preventive health and hence chose the free medical camp to kick off the celebrations"
