Hip Hop/Soul Artist JHollins Introduces the World to AKA Casanova Black
The highly anticipated follow-up to The Soul Renaissance LP to be released on October 18
Online, October 18, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Maybe they fell in love with his soulful voice upon hearing I Wish or perhaps caught themselves two-stepping as Toast played on their local radio station. Whatever the case, hip hop/soul artist J.Hollins gave music lovers a reason to be excited again when he released The Soul Renaissance LP nearly two years ago. And now, the wait is over. He's back on the scene and set to release his third full-length album, aka Casanova Black, on October 18, 2011.
Just as a Casanova is passionate about women and tends to the desires of many lovers, J.Hollins evokes a similar emotion when it comes to his music. His style is unique, talent unmatched. He can set the mood with a ballad and at the same time lyrically hold his own against your favorite MC. He's suave, yet tough. With aka Casanova Black, listeners experience a body of work so musically diverse that it makes it extremely difficult for one to put a label on it.
"This album truly showcases my worth as a songwriter, vocal arranger, singer, rapper... an all around artist," said J.Hollins. "I refuse to allow the industry to put me in a box."
From the first officially released single, the melodic You're My Girl to the club-friendly Freak Show, which features Chicago Power 92 host/MC Teefa and Grind King, the 14-track aka Casanova Black is positioned to bring together listeners across all generations, offering a bit of something for everyone. Saturday Nite is guaranteed to get people back on the dance floor while I'm Not Ready, featuring Dave Pracyse, is about as honest as it gets with lyrics like, "I want a girl when I want a girl and when I don't want a girl, I want a girl who understands that."
"I wanted to get back to what I do best, what the people and the DJs came to love about my music, " said J.Hollins. "I know I do my best work when I'm doing what's in my heart."
Both casual music fans and die-hard aficionados will want to check out this third release, aka Casanova Black.
Available October 18 on iTunes, Amazon and Zune.
