Holiday Fundraiser Gets Help From I-Bobbles

Boston, MA, October 5, 2015 (Newswire.com) - ​Christmas came a little early for a local charity raising much needed funds to help those in need during the holidays. This weekend, the Boston Angels of Need kicked off its Angel Tree registration and once again, i-Bobbles, a Bobble Head retailer raised almost two thousand dollars over the weekend.

Enormous crowds gathered to create a custom bobble head doll or Christmas greeting card through i-Bobbles, who is helping raise funds for the second year in a row.

"We are proud to help in any way that we can," said Brian King, owner of i-Bobbles of Boston. "Giving back to the community, especially the less fortunate is a great way to give back to those who have helped make us so successful this year."

For Amy Athens, a Boston mother of four, the program means the difference between having something under the tree and a little more food on the table this holiday season.  "Last year, the Angels helped me a great deal and I hope to give back to this program one day," said Childers.

Chris Szechowsky, a single father of three, received help from the Angels 10-years ago.  Now he helps-out at many of their fund raisers.  "This is now my favorite of the pre-holiday fund raisers for Angels," said Szechowsky.  "We get to help a great cause, and we get to make a great Bobble Head from a company who truly cares."

Their motivations may have differed, but their missions proved to be the same: put smiles on the little faces they love come Christmas Day.

On the second day of the two-day event, the crowds got bigger and the line got longer as the company agreed to donate 50% of their proceeds to the Angel Tree Program. 

"They're back again!" said Bernadette Penn with the Boston Angels of Need.

"You will see those Angel Trees  in the malls and at Walmart.  People can go and select a child that they want to shop for," said Penn. "While they're shopping for their own children or their grandchildren, maybe they can help out another child as well, and get a very nice Bobble Head Doll or Card while they are here," stated Penn.

Thanks to the Angels of Need and i-Bobbles, the gift of Christmas will soon be hanging from an Angel Tree near you.

After Angel Tree registrations wrap up in Boston November 1, the public will be able to access Angel Trees at six area Walmart stores beginning November 30.
