Hollister Construction Services Project Used As Emergency Command Facility In Superstorm Sandy Recovery Efforts

Recently Completed Facility was Communications Center for First Responders after Hurricane

Hollister Construction Services ,a leading full-service construction manager recently completed construction of SecureWatch24's state of the art fusion center, an emergency command center which was recently used to lead recovery efforts in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy. The facility, located at 70 Moonachie Avenue in Moonachie, New Jersey, served as a central command post for first responders after local municipal, fire department and police buildings were damaged by the devastating storm.

The bunker-like facility, which was completed one month ago, was opened immediately after the storm to local and regional authorities, who made use of its sophisticated mobile technologies to dispatch emergency response personnel.

"We are deeply gratified to have participated in building this extraordinary facility, which so quickly became critical to maintaining the region's emergency response infrastructure," said Kieran D. Flanagan, President of Hollister.

SecureWatch 24 is a commercial and residential real estate security company that offers a combination of sophisticated technology, experienced law-enforcement personnel, and other specialized security services.

The fusion center, designed by Arcari + Iovino Architects, included the new construction of a 100-screen video wall, a research and development room, and a 24-hour emergency call center that operates on dual fuel generators with emergency battery backups. Built to withstand natural disasters as well as terrorist attacks, fusion centers are important to preparedness planning under the direction of the Department of Homeland Security.
