Hollywood Artist McKenzie releases Original Painting to benefit EMA in honor of Gallery Store Grand Opening
Award-winning Painter, Artist McKenzie, releases rare original painting to the public to raise awareness and funds for the Environmental Media Association and to commemorate the opening of new online gallery store.
Online, July 4, 2010 (Newswire.com) - The McKenzie Art Studio , official website for award-winning Artist McKenzie, has announced the first original painting to be available to the general public in over 5 years. The highly collected artist, has a waiting list for her originals, which has proven to be as lengthy as 2 years.
The painting, "Camogli Harbor" (part of the Italy Series) will commemorate the opening of the new McKenzie Art Studio gallery store in which nearly 200 paintings, spanning the artist's 20 year career, will be available as limited edition prints, and eco-friendly art.
"She is an amazing artist! In fact many collectors, such as myself, believe that she is one of the greatest women artists of our time...and the best part? A portion of the proceeds benefits a powerful cause. Wow," says collector, Julian Sweeney of Rhode Island.
Raising awareness and funds for a variety of causes has been at the heart of Artist McKenzie's career. She has been nicknamed the "Hollywood charity artist" due to her numerous celebrity collectors and her work with the Hollywood Acting Community. Her goal is to reach $2 million dollars in donations through art and to use her paintings as a catalyst for change. "She is well on her way to attaining her goal", says her manager, Steven Rice.
In recent years, Artist McKenzie, has focused her attention on environmental causes. Her diagnosis of Lupus and the effect of twenty years of chemical exposure through the art making process has fueled her passion towards environmental awareness. "Many of my art making materials were highly toxic and took a toll on my body. After much investigation, I have found that there are eco-friendly, non-toxic alternatives to all the processes."
The original painting, "Camogli Harbor" by Artist McKenzie will be available directly through the new online store at www.McKenzieArtStudio.com . A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Environmental Media Association. EMA, a non-profit 501 (c) 3, mobilizes the entertainment industry in a global effort to educate people about environmental issues and inspire them into action. EMA was created by Lyn & Norman Lear and Cindy & Alan Horn in 1989 with the simple but powerful concept that, through television and film, the entire entertainment industry can influence the environmental awareness of millions of people.By weaving environmental messages through programming and using "celebrity" for positive role modeling, EMA continues to influence how the public receives environmental information. To achieve this goal, EMA meets one-on-one to assist creative teams, produces public service announcements, collaborates with other environmental groups, hosts industry briefings, encourages the use of hybrid cars and works closely with environmentally responsible corporations. The annual EMA Awards recognize writers, producers, directors, actors and others who include environmental messages in their work. EMA also has created the Green Seal Award to recognize environmentally responsible production efforts behind-the-scenes, such as set construction, energy usage, resource conservation, recycling and purchasing policies.
