Homes by Taber Launches Food Drive to Benefit City Rescue Mission

Oklahoma City, OK, December 6, 2016 (Newswire.com) - ​We’re in the midst of the holiday season. Many people are planning the big feast, surrounded by family and friends.

Hundreds, even thousands, of people in the Oklahoma City will spend Christmas day without the comfort of loved ones. Or they will have nothing to feed their children or themselves.

City Rescue Mission is a true blessing for this community. The work they do every day of the year is for worthy people who just need a little help. With all the things going on this time of year, it's easy to forget about people who are lacking the simple comfort of a meal. We want them to know someone cares. I know our team, our homeowners, and our vendors, and they rally when someone needs help.

Thanks to City Rescue Mission in OKC, the homeless and those in need will have a place to enjoy a meal, any day of the year. Last year alone, City Rescue served 2,000,000 meals.

Homes by Taber has launched its first food drive to benefit City Rescue. Until December 15, the OKC home builder is collecting donations of non-perishable food items at its home office and the model home of 9 of its communities.

“City Rescue Mission is a true blessing for this community. The work they do every day of the year is for worthy people who just need a little help,” explains Taber LeBlanc, founder of Homes by Taber. “With all the things going on this time of year, it’s easy to forget about people who are lacking the simple comfort of a meal. We want them to know someone cares.”

The invitation to the Homes by Taber annual holiday party asked guests to bring items for the food drive as well.

“I know our team, our homeowners, and our vendors, and they rally when someone needs help,” says LeBlanc, who recently completed a coat drive for City Rescue, collecting 709 coats.

Food donations are being accepted until December 15 at the company’s office, at 305 West Memorial Road in OKC, as well as the model homes at the following communities:
