Hometown Military Veteran Pens Book
Catherine Y. Anderson's first book and collection of short stories entitled, "Shoe Exchange" was written with a sense from her dreams and imagination.
Online, February 21, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Catherine Y. Anderson graduated with the Class of 1972 from Tompkins High School, Savannah, Georgia. She retired from the United States Army as a Nurse Corps Officer and disabled veteran.
She was born in Savannah, Georgia and left in her early twenties. She currently resides in the beautiful city of Lacey in Washington State.
She was inspired by writing when she worked as an editor for the monthly Madigan Family Readiness Group newsletter. Catherine Y. Anderson's first book and collection of short stories entitled, "Shoe Exchange". Each story expressed in one way or another: tunes of humor, tragedy and the rekindling of life.
In her short stories, Fashion Show described how three best friends were pleasantly surprised with a childhood activity. In Three Candy Stripers, adult friends deal with tragedy and the rekindling of life. The title story Shoe Exchange, posed a rare twist of fantasy and intrigue. In Dream, a career change affected a family. In A Short Story, a change in life events happened. In Rest, a serious turn in life posed a new beginning and in the last chapter, Empty Nest, impending house relocation for a married couple was fear-provoking.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her hobbies included writing, reading, gardening, sailing and cooking.
This book was written for readers of all ages.
