Honoring Fallen Officers In St. Charles
Baue Funeral Homes, Crematory and Cemetery honors these officers, and all fallen members of the police force, each year through its annual Peace Officers Memorial Service.
Online, May 5, 2012 (Newswire.com) - St. Charles, MO - Recent reports show that the number of officers killed in the line of duty in the United States has been rising steadily over the last two years. In the state of Missouri, seven officers were killed in 2011. Baue Funeral Homes, Crematory and Cemetery honors these officers, and all fallen members of the police force, each year through its annual Peace Officers Memorial Service. This year's service, now in its 20th year, will take place on Wednesday, May 9th at 7:00PM at St. Charles Memorial Gardens, 3950 West Clay, St. Charles.
The event is free and open to the public, and is sponsored by the Peace Officers Memorial Service Committee and hosted by Baue Funeral Homes, Crematory and Cemetery.
The candlelight service will be dedicated to all the men and women of law enforcement who served our community and put their lives on the line to keep residents safe. Law enforcement agencies in St. Charles County will be recognized during the ceremony, and a roll call of all officers killed in the line of duty, or who died while serving, will be read. Fallen officers will be rededicated to duty, and their families will be honored.
"For 20 years, Baue has had the honor and privilege of hosting this special event which recognizes the courage and commitment local law enforcement officers demonstrate in serving our community each day," said Lisa Baue, President of Baue Funeral Homes, Crematory, Cemetery. "We honor their lives, and pay special tribute to the men, women and families who have made the ultimate sacrifice."
