"Hot Rock On A Cold Night" - Free Live Holiday Concert to Support TeenFeed.org

Online, December 5, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Four local teen bands are raising awareness of teen homelessness by playing a free (no cover) night of rock music at the Salmon Bay Eagles club in Seattle on Friday, December 17, from 8 PM until midnight. The "Hot Rock on a Cold Night" concert is an All Ages event and the community is encouraged to bring a new, warm article of clothing (such as a coat, hand warmers or socks) to donate to TeenFeed.org.

The "Hot Rock on a Cold Night" concert will feature Pave the Earth, Empathy, No Excuses, and Fate Descends. Members for these bands have played at several Seattle venues including The Crocodile, the Triple Door, El Corazon, the Vera Project and the EMP.

"Homelessness in general is a terrible thing," said Megan Scherrer, 16 year old bass player for the band No Excuses, "but to be homeless as a teenager, that would be a tough hole to dig out of, I mean, where do you go from there?" That became the question as the cold weather set in over the holidays, and TeenFeed.org became the answer.

Teen Feed's website states that in 2009 the organization served 11,313 meals over a total of 272 evenings, made over 1,350 positive contacts with Seattle area youth directly on the streets and helped 60 youth enter safe and stable housing.
