House Of Play Encourage Parents To Use Indoor Play Centres While The Snow Melts

The recent widespread snow and cold temperatures have covered the country over the last week, now however it seems as though the snow is melting, leaving wet roads and parks in its place.

Recently the UK has experienced some incredibly adverse weather, with the resultant widespread snow and freezing temperatures covering the country in dangerous ice, blocking many small towns off from the outside world. In one small town, Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire, the local Sainsbury's was stripped of its stock as locals went out in a fit of panic-buying, piling bread and milk high in their trollies to ensure they survived the latest onslaught of snow.

Now however, the UK is seeing much better weather, with the sun shining in full strength, helping the snow and ice melt away, leaving roads once again safe to drive on. As a result of all the snow and ice melting however, parks and outdoor play areas have been left soaked in water, turning them into swamps or bogs which are impassable, and should be avoided while the water drains away. This leaves outdoor play areas useless for children and parents, as the wet and muddy ground is too slippery for children to run on, and parents can't run after their children if the ground is pulling off their wellies.

House Of Play is recommending that parents use indoor play centres while the water drains away from parks and outdoor play areas. A Consumer Research Representative explained, "Parents need somewhere to bring their children to play, but they can't ignore the fact that most open grassy areas are now too wet for anyone to even walk on. Indoor play centres are warm and safe places where children can run wild and burn some of their energy. Parents can sit down and relax at the cafe and recuperate for a while, giving them the energy they need to manage the rest of the day."

Children need to be kept active, or they can end up running around at home where it's not appropriate. Parents need to make sure that even with the parks being too wet to play on they still take the time to take their children somewhere to use up their extra energy.

House Of Play is the UK's number one manufacturer and supplier of indoor play equipment. They have a wide range of products which they offer to indoor play centres around the country, and are expanding to offer their products in Europe.
