How local business owners get in the habit of donating
Award winning Movers, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK/ Sacarmento has demonstarted year after year that they want to be a part of the communities that they have locations in. With 3 locations, the work is starting to adding up, here's why.
Online, December 29, 2009 (Newswire.com) - Livermore, CA. As their 3rd location of award winning moving company TWO MEN AND A TRUCK completes its first year in Livermore, California, owners Mark Snyir and Chad Arnold can be proud that not only did they survive another year in which their industry constantly takes a beating, but they maintained a consistent level of charitable donations.
When asked why they continue to put so much effort into doing good deeds for their local community, they attribute their drive to their days in Sigma Chi. It was back in college, in the Sigma Chi Fraternity where these Sacramento men joined a "brotherhood" with such other leaders as Drew Brees, Urban Meyer, John Wayne, Brad Pitt, Warren Beatty and other Sacramento Business Leaders, Joe and Gavin Maloof of the Sacramento Kings.
"When you join an organization, which is associated with high profile names, you tend to hold yourself more accountable for your actions since they not only reflect on you, but the organizations you're a part of", explains co-owner of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK and Life Loyal Sig Mark Snyir.
In college, Mark and Chad would get paired up together and walk door-to-door collecting money for the local Lions' Club, Camp Orenda, which is a summer camp for people with disabilities, so that they camp could stay open. In addition, their Fraternity held pancake breakfasts and additional fundraisers with the sororities to collect money for the camp.
"Being that we spent 4 years of college doing community service, we didn't seem to have a problem doing it now as business leaders" Mark's Business Partner, Chad Arnold continues.
Not only do Mark and Chad do a lot for their community, but over the past 2 years, their locations have finished 1st and 2nd among all other TWO MEN AND A TRUCK locations across the country (that's over 180 locations) in Franchises' coveted Awards in Excellence Category (Best Overall Franchise), they have won their Franchises' Safety Award 2 years running, and in 2008 they were on the Sacramento Business Journal's fastest growing companies list.
