How Many Different Ways Can You Spell "YONKERS"?

66 Main Street and the Yonkers Downtown BID Announce Graphic Art Contest

Three lucky participants from Saunders Trades and Technical High School in Yonkers, NY, will win a total of $2,000 as prizes for placing in the top three of a graphic art contest. The contest is hosted by the management of 66 Main Street in Yonkers, in conjunction with the Yonkers Downtown/Waterfront BID, and aims to find the best artistic rendering of the word "YONKERS." The ten best submissions will be displayed throughout 66 Main Street at a reception at 10am on June 4th, 2012.

This isn't the first time Yonkers has invited Saunders High School students to help bring art back into the city streets. Just a few years ago, the Yonkers Public Works Department used the designs submitted by Saunders students to cover six city garbage trucks in new and colorful outfits. The trucks were ultimately a huge success.

Jordan Glick, Property Director of 66 Main Street, exclaimed, "We know the students at Saunders High School are wildly creative and with all the changes happening in Yonkers right now, we wanted to give them a chance to flex their creative muscles. It's a way for everybody to showcase their pride of their city!"

The first place winner will receive $1,000, the second place winner will receive $750, and the third place winner will receive $250. All participants whose submissions are chosen will receive a certificate. Entries must be submitted by May 18, 2012 and must adhere to the following technical specifications:
• Entries should be made using a high resolution JPG, 3:1 ratio
• Please email images to [email protected], to the attention of Jordan Glick
• The images will be enlarged to 3' wide x 1' tall
• 10 submissions will be chosen and placed throughout 66 Main Street
