It's a win, win, win situation.

It's only by a process of continuous improvement that you can really keep your hopes of making it alive - and that's precisely what a script contest does - it tempts you to write new screenplays. The truth of the matter is that there is an awful lot of good talent out there, as yet undiscovered, and more are joining the ranks all the time. So if you want to be in with a chance of being discovered, you've got to try and stay ahead of the field.

But don't just settle for entering one script contest; why not spread your talents around a little bit and enter several? Some contests are free to enter, whereas you may have to pay an entrance fee for others.
