Hunter Chefs Inspiration From Peter Kuruvita's Sri Lankan Kitchen

Online, February 18, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Monday March 1 Peter Kuruvita of Sydney's acclaimed Flying Fish restaurant will be guest speaker at the Hunter Chefs & Co Autumn luncheon to be held at 12pm at Chateau Élan, The Vintage. Peter has recently published a book on Sri Lankan traditional cuisine called 'Serendip' which was based on his experiences growing up with his grandmother and aunties as he recounts the markets and stalls, recipes and stories of the lush green island.
Peter Kuruvita's career as a Chef has taken him to prestigious restaurants in London, USA, Fiji, Lord Howe and Hayman Islands, Bali and back to Sydney where he runs his internationally renowned Flying Fish restaurant, famous for its creative culinary dishes and stunning ambience.
The seasonal luncheon series was developed by Hunter Chefs & Co to build on the education and training for new and established Hunter Chefs and the use of the best produce available from Hunter Region Providores.
Ben Neil, Chairman of Hunter Chefs & Co, says all Chefs and Providores will benefit from coming along to the luncheon series, "These lunches are for hospitality professionals of all experience levels, and we encourage them to come along for the networking benefits of connecting with the Hunters best Chefs and industry professionals, continuing valuable friendships and making new ones".
The luncheon costs $75 for Hunter Chefs & Co members and $95 for guests with the luncheon, beer and wine provided. Peter Kuruvita will be lending a hand with the canapes, which will draw on Peter's passion for Sri Lankan cuisine.
