I Believe I Can Run
Online, August 11, 2011 (Newswire.com) - (Legazpi City) On October 23, 2011, Blessed Louis Guanella will be canonized to sainthood at the Vatican . Blessed Guanella is the founder of The Servants of Charity Mission which has been caring for the sick and the poor for more than a century now. Here in Legazpi City, Harong Kan Sagrada Familia is the mission's outreach center which has been providing shelter, specialized education and rehabilitation for differently abled persons. In celebration of their founder's canonization, the center is building a Hydro Therapy Pool Facility to enhance their special education and rehabilitation programs. A milestone project for a great and noble cause.
To support the building of the said facility, a Fun Run will be held on December 03, 2011 in Legazpi City. Dubbed as " I Believe I can Run! (Abang Gayon! Kan Nagdadalagan na Bitis)", it was envisioned to attract more than a thousand runners and supporters all over the region. It is also a running competition in 3km, 5km and 10km categories with cash prizes and medals for the winners.
Differently abled persons are encourage to join the event. The event It is not just a fun run but a Bicolano's declaration of understanding and support to the differently abled members of the society . Moreover, is more than a fund raising project; it is a unique activity that offers an opportunity to show support to the lesser privileged and empowering them to be a better member of the society.
The Fun run is expected to generate revenue from registration proceeds, donations and sponsorships. The event will be followed by the ground breaking ceremony of the Hydro Therapy Pool Facility development site and a thanksgiving mass of Blessed Guanella's canonization.
