IANS & Artico Search Release Cross-Industry Cybersecurity Budget Benchmark Data
BOSTON, January 12, 2022 (Newswire.com) - In 2021, the combination of greater visibility and growing pressures from top executives presents an opportune time for CISOs to revisit current security budgets and to make the case for additional resources. IANS Research and Artico Search embarked on an aggregated industrywide budget survey that aims to deliver increased transparency to security budgeting.
"We've seen a great deal of variance across information security budgets," said Nick Kakolowski, Senior Research Director of IANS. "This study gives CISOs an opportunity to not only benchmark their spending against peers, but understand the underlying trends behind the budget data to better inform decision-making."
This security budget benchmark report offers objective and comprehensive data from 425 CISOs as part of the second annual CISO Compensation and Budget Survey conducted by IANS and Artico Search. This data includes breakdowns by industry sector, company size, and security team size, and it spans Canada and the U.S.
Steve Martano, a partner in Artico Search's cyber practice, added, "As most CISOs attempt to benchmark their own budgets to that of their peers, we break through the noise and misinformation in the market by going directly to practitioners themselves. Our 2021 budget survey presents accurate and real-time data to arm CISOs with the relevant information to fight for fair and adequate budgets."
This is the second publication in a series of four reports that covers CISO compensation, security budgets, key security staff compensation and CISO job satisfaction.
