IBT Media Adds Editorial Director to Oversee Portfolio of Tech Brands

IBT Media, a global news organization, today announced that Marc Perton has joined as Editorial Director, Tech. In the newly created role, Perton will be in charge of IBT Media’s portfolio of brands in the technology vertical and will develop new technology-focused websites. He will be based out of IBT Media’s New York City headquarters and will report directly to Co-Founder and Chief Content Officer, Johnathan Davis.

Perton will build a team of technology reporters to launch, steward, and increment several consumer-facing technology websites and will be responsible for planning, hiring, growing readership, and escalating the brands and online experience. Perton will work across editorial, technology and business teams.

Perton joins the company from Havas Worldwide where he was a creative director of content. He has a deep history in digital news, having previously served as Editor-in-Chief of Engadget, Director of Content for GDGT, Executive Editor of Online Media for Consumer Reports and Executive Producer for Oxygen Media. Perton has also held positions at iVillage, Citi, United Online and Big Think.
