IBT Offers Professionals Specialized Supervisor Training to Meet the Behavior Analyst Certification Board Requirements
The Institute for Behavioral Training (IBT) will host a training on Nov. 11, 2013, in Marina Del Rey, Calif., to teach professionals the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure effective supervision.
Online, November 7, 2013 (Newswire.com) - The Institute for Behavioral Training (IBT) will host an eight-hour supervisor workshop, "Components of Effective, Evidence-Based Behavior Analytic Supervision," on Monday, Nov. 11, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Hilton Garden Inn in Marina del Rey, Calif. This training will describe the knowledge and skills needed to ensure effective supervision of individuals who are pursuing certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Based on the BACB's current standards for supervision, professionals who supervise individuals pursuing Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) certification must complete eight hours of specialized training by Dec. 31, 2014, regarding the provision of effective supervision. Attendees will earn nine-and-a-half BCBA continuing education (CE) credit hours. Online registration is required at www.ibehavioraltraining.com/IBT/Events.aspx.
Participants of the Nov. 11 training will have the opportunity to learn and demonstrate understanding of: the purpose of supervision; important features of supervision, including a review of the BACB standards; the format and relevance of behavioral skills training; the proper way to deliver performance feedback; approaches for evaluating the effects of supervision; and methods for ongoing professional development for the supervisee. This training program is based on the BACB Supervisor Training Curriculum Outline but is offered independent of the BACB.
"Our goal is to facilitate the delivery of high-quality training services that result in client improvement," said IBT director Cecilia Knight, MA, BCBA. "This training will provide attendees with important features of the effective supervision of those who deliver behavior analytic services."
