ICM Controls Receives Energy Efficiency Award from NYSERDA

NYSERDA Funding Helps Reduce Energy Costs by $92,000 Annually

ICM Controls, a leader in the design and manufacturing of electronic controls, received a High Performance Building Plaque from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) for the energy efficient measures incorporated into its new headquarters building that will help cuts its energy costs by $92,000 annually.

ICM Controls' world headquarters and manufacturing facility in North Syracuse, New York, was built using nearly $265,000 of incentives from NYSERDA to install a variety of energy-saving features, including high performance windows, lighting systems, heating and cooling system, as well as building envelop insulation.

"ICM Controls has been a leader in the manufacturing of energy efficient products for residential and commercial use, and is now demonstrating their commitment to conserving energy by making its manufacturing facility cleaner and greener," said Francis J. Murray Jr., President and CEO of NYSERDA.

ICM Controls is the 29th recipient of one of these performance awards presented to hospitals, libraries, schools, businesses, and organizations that have constructed buildings designed to perform at least 30 percent above the New York State Energy Conservation Construction Code.

"The High Performance Building Plaque serves as validation to ICM's commitment to responsible corporate citizenship in the use of energy and is consistent with its mission to bring energy saving products to market," said Ron Kadah, President of ICM Controls.

As a result of NYSERDA investment, ICM Controls is anticipated to reduce its energy consumption by more than 812,000 kWh per year, the equivalent to the electricity consumed by approximately 125 single family homes in a year.

New York Governor David Paterson's '45 by 15' clean energy policy calls for New York to reduce its electricity consumption by 15 percent through improved energy efficiency and increase the proportion of renewable energy used by New York consumers to 30 percent by the year 2015.
