Online, June 24, 2013 (Newswire.com) - The City of Quincy, Washington in partnership with iCompass Technologies is excited to announce the release of ReportQuincy, a smartphone app that gives members of the community the ability to submit concerns from their cellphone 24/7 365 days a year.
The City of Quincy is the first municipality to launch the groundbreaking citizen engagement application from iCompass.
Littering, fallen trees, potholes and any other maintenance issues in the City can be reported and sent directly to the City Hall staff member in charge of responding. Members of the community simply take a picture with their smartphone, fill out a quick description and City Hall instantly receives the request.
"ReportQuincy will be a key tool in ensuring our community remains clean, safe and beautiful. We believe that by opening new lines of communication the City will be able to improve our response to various public works and parks issues," said City of Quincy Recreation Director Russ Harrington.
All ongoing service requests are visible on a digital map within the application and members of the community can track the City's response to any issue. Email notifications are sent to those who have submitted a service request to ensure they are completely in the loop with what's going on.
"The City of Quincy is the first municipality in North America to launch our new citizen engagement smartphone app proving again to be a leader in innovation across Washington State and North America," said iCompass Technologies VP of Sales and Marketing Scott Neufeld.
The City of Quincy also plans to implement a Code Enforcement/Police version later this summer with the hope that he Parks & Public Works and the Code Enforcement pieces to this smartphone application will help bring all its neighborhoods together. This program should put more eyes on Quincy's streets and parks making the community cleaner, safer, and more appealing place to live.
