ICONventional Launches Innovative Music Service
Online, July 29, 2013 (Newswire.com) - ICONventional announces the launch of iconventional.com, a music service offering weekly promotions for up and coming independent artists. Each weekly promotion is a compilation album featuring five artists contributing two tracks each. The minimum purchase price is $1 and the 'pay what you want' experience allows listeners to more directly support the artists.
According to Zachary Koontz, co-founder, "ICONventional aims to provide independent artists with both monetary and fan support at a reasonable price to the listener. People today aren't as willing to pay for music, making it very difficult for independent artists to succeed. If we can sell thousands of albums every week imagine what this would mean for the artists."
All content will be available as 192 kbps or higher MP3 files (and FLAC, if available) and is completely DRM-free. Each purchase can be downloaded a total of three times through the 'My Account' page on the website at any time.
The first album is scheduled to be released on August 4, 2013. Artists and fans are encouraged to submit content, further emphasizing a user-driven service. Fans can subscribe to a mailing list and follow ICONventional on various social networks to be notified of future promotions.
"We hope that people welcome the simplicity of ICONventional," says Minh Hoang, co-founder. Discovering new music is now easier than ever."
