If It's Too Loud, You Must Be In Sweden

Online, March 28, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Canadian Rock band Tracenine arrived with more than a bang at their first ever appearance at the 2009 Sweden Rock Festival. Booked as the festival opener, which included such icons as Heaven and Hell (Ronnie James Dio & Black Sabbath) and the legendary Motorhead, Tracenine is accused of going well over the decibel level allowed by law.

According to the Swedish press, Sweden's Environmental Protection Agency has fined the rock festival for exposing it's audience to excessive sound volumes. The highest decibel level allowed for concerts is 97 decibels. Tracenine peaked the decibel meter at 115.8. Although the heavy metal band Manowar is the claimant of "the loudest band in the world" and is listed in the now defunct category "loudest musical performance" in the Guinness World Book of Records coming in at 129.5 decibels in 1994, other top noisemakers are KISS at 120 db, Iron Maiden at 124 db and AC/DC at 130 db.

Kieren McClelland of Armed Music, management (Manager) for Tracenine expressed disappointment at the Environmental Protection Agency's charges, "The meters must have somehow malfunctioned or were read incorrectly, Tracenine would never play a show in such a demure fashion."
