iLEAD Conducts Earth Reel 2015

Kolkata, September 4, 2015 (Newswire.com) - iLEAD , a premium B school that has been providing world class education to its students has recently organized an event named Earth Reel on 12th August 2015, in their Dale Carnegie Auditorium where more than 15 schools of Kolkata actively participated. The event has been a grand success. For the last three years Bichitra Pathshala had a film making competition for students in association with iLEAD known as Earth Reel. The session started from 10.30 a.m. onwards and continued till 3.00p.m.

Bichitra Pathshala is a society which works with teachers and students to encourage innovative teaching learning methods in the classroom in keeping with the motto of 'learning through moving images' as with today's technology savvy generation, using moving images in the classroom situation and otherwise is a highly effective communication tool. Earth Day Network-India has collaborated with Bichitra Pathshala, in the last few years interacting with students and teachers alike in organizing workshops and film making contests.

This year the contest for Earth Reel encouraged students to explore their neighborhoods to find some positive actions for the environment and report this through a 2 minute news capsule.

Event Synopsis

The bunch of students who took part in the event was extremely enthusiastic. Their work was to indentify the news, probe it further and then report it in a proper manner. 30 news capsules on environmental problems and the solutions have been selected for screening. The students who participated were extremely well versed with their topics. The presentation has been really good providing a lot of information. The decision rested with an extremely educated panel of jury members. They scanned each clip submitted by the students and declared the winners at the end of the event.

Mr. Pradip Chopra the chairman of the Institute when asked about his feelings told, “This is a platform to show the inner excellence or more so to say talent of a student. I am glad that our students have performed so well.”
