The train
The Golden Chariot was named after the legendary Stone Chariot of Hampi. The luxury train is operated by Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation, better known by its acronym KSTDC while hospitality services on board are catered to by a leading name in the industry, the Mapple Group. The 7 days and 8 nights journey covers destinations like Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka and the silicon valley of India; Mysore, the royal city of kings; Kabini, famous for Nagarhole National Park; Hassan and Badami, home to world heritage sites, and Goa, the beach capital of India.
The facilities
There are 44 cabins in 11 coaches of the train to accommodate just 88 passengers. The coaches have been named after the dynasties of Karnataka. The royal chug contains two restaurants, one lounge bar, spa, gymnasium and conference amenities.
The compartments are real cocoon of comfort with state-of-the-art facilities on board.
