Online, July 5, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Stafford Carrington, Managing Director of Impact IT, a UK based IT Recruitment Company talks candidly about the effects of the recent downturn on his business and why the future looks bright for the IT industry and IT recruitment.
Impact IT was created during the previous IT Recruitment downturn following the dot com crash in 2001.They are therefore accustomed to changes in the market but like many IT recruitment agencies they were amongst the first to notice the effects of the most recent downturn. However, they have also been amongst the first to notice improvements within the market and more recent reports from the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) have shown a sustained upturn within recruitment. When asked about the affects of the recession on his business Stafford Carrington, Managing Director or Impact IT was positive.
"2009 was a tough year for UK business and IT Recruitment was affected as many companies put a freeze on their recruitment drives. Despite the difficult trading circumstances we were able to focus on our key clients and work hard to find new ones. We also gained access to a greater pool of qualified IT professionals who flooded onto the market and have increased our network of candidates. Where work was scarce we spent time refining our IT recruitment process and training and development. As a result the company has come out of the other side stronger."
Impact IT is one example of an IT Recruitment company using the economic downturn to improve services and develop a stronger candidate base. Many service companies have been forced to improve their offering to clients and develop the way they conduct business in order to survive. As a result they are able to offer a better service to their clients. As companies everywhere begin to take stock and embark on projects which were previously put on hold they will inevitably need to consider recruitment and Stafford Carrington speaks openly about being ready for the upturn.
"We have noticed an increase in the number of clients recruiting. Many companies put holds on their recruitment for a year or more and simply can't wait any longer. One by one our clients are coming back to us and new emerging clients are also having an effect. The time we took to improve our candidate base and develop our services has made us more competitive. I spent much of last year training my IT recruitment consultants and as a result I have a strong professional team who are focussed on meeting the needs of our clients quickly and cost effectively. We are very positive about the year ahead and increasingly our clients are too."
