Online, August 29, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Institute of Management Technology Ghaziabad alumnus Rajesh Sehgal aims to make Caretel Infotech Ltd. one of India's top five business process outsourcing agencies within two years.
He's certainly in the position to do so, currently working as CEO of Caretel Infotech, a Dalmia group company and a top-end domestic BPO, which he said has seen double-digit growth in last seven years.
"We already are serving blue-chip clients and doing a big number of E-governance projects."
His role is to provide leadership for the growth of the company, ensuring it meets revenue and people targets while keeping customers happy.
A graduate of the 1999-2000 batch, Sehgal said a quest for knowledge and personal growth led him to the IMT-Ghaziabad PGDM Executive programme.
He was working as a manager at Food MNC when he realized to handle higher responsibilities and bigger roles he needed more education in the field of management. The PGDM Executive programme at IMT-Ghaziabad provided the right platform to achieve it, he said, noting "We were fortunate to have excellent faculty who guided us well in terms of academics as well as ethics."
Looking back on his years at IMT, he said "I feel a total transformation in my personality and knowledge level. I have acquired new skills in finance, human resources and marketing."
Saying he got hands-on experience, Sehgal noted "the time at IMT taught us how to perform in large groups, handle pressure and respect other points of view. It inculcated the spirit of winning and seeking opportunities out of challenges. I also acquired skills to successfully execute the projects while beating time lines."
The most important skills needed to succeed in his field, said Sehgal are: communication and presentation; the ability to manage a large team and work with them; conflict resolution abilities and good negotiation skills seeking win-win solutions.
To those considering an PGDM Executive programme, he says go for it if you want long-term personal and career growth. The course broadens the way you see things he said and "after the programme I had new confidence about my success in future years. My advice: take the plunge, work hard and you will gain a lot in long term."
