The life of a marketing man is exciting, edgy and unpredictable. IMT Ghaziabad's Senior Dean Academics Dr. Rajendra Nargundkar has seen life unravel in all its glory right before his eyes. He grabbed every experience that came his way with both his hands, savoured it and stored it away in his memory for future reference.

Author of five books till date, Dr. Rajendra Nargundkar, injects flavours of humour in every aspect of life. His previous publications are all in his area of mastery - mark eting. The latest, however, is autobiographical and is titled My Experiments with Half-truths. Laced with dollops of humour, it takes you through 48 years of his life.

His blogger profile says, "I read, therefore I am. I also like to think about education at all levels and figure out where it is leading us."

My Experiments with Half-truths has his special touches of humour that come from reading and thoroughly enjoying P G Wodehouse books. Chapter 3 focuses on his time at IIMB, and talks of how he went through the nitty-gritty of life and a management education learning the ropes on his feet and on the road. Interestingly, while there are several other publications coming out of IMT, this is the first autobiography and covers 48 years of Dr. Nargundkar's life.

The book itself, all 168 pages of it, is extremely readable and has vintage photographs of IIMB - Dr. Nargundkar's alma mater. "One of the nice things I think I did at IIMB was doing group photo shoots of all classmates. I had to borrow a camera from Siraj to do it, and used colour film for the first time," he writes in his book.

It was perhaps here, at IIMB, that Dr. Nargundkar discovered his writing talents were appreciated by many. "An interesting thing happened somewhere in term 2 at IIM. I started writing under a pseudonym 'Observer', about small events like sports (the few that we could manage to play) on the notice board at the hostel, and found these pieces had a wide readership (later, it became our official wall mag -we called it Mural). So I expanded into areas like film reviews and jokes (PJs), along with Dash, my co-editor of the IIM magazine, and we became a rage," he confesses in My Experiments with Half-truths.

Published on pothi.com, it is a print on demand book, making it a no-waste endeavour. "Anybody, poet or writer can get published with the help of this site," he said at the launch of his book. His ever ready trademark smile lit up his sparkling eyes igniting a ray of hope in the aspiring authors and poets in the audience.
