Inaugural Comic Retreat Wraps Up Successful Week In Vero Beach Florida

Vero Beach, Florida (PRWEB) Last night local organizers hosted the last showcase comedy event for Comic Retreat 2011 at the Italian American Club in Vero Beach.
Veteran comic headliner Hank Western closed the show featuring young comics from across the globe. "You could feel the magic in the room; the audience knew they were part of comedy history with the performances of Long Island Mary and Robin Savage. It would be like seeing Joan Rivers live in person back in the 60's at the start of her career." said Western

Last minute rescheduling of venues, cold weather, and modest attendance at some events didn't discourage retreat director. "We were so pleased that so many members of our community stepped up to be part of Comic Retreat." said Victoria Jackson
Sebastian Comedy Society, LLC the firm that owns and operates Comic Retreat has already began preparing for next year's retreat. "Now after a good first year Comic Retreat has evolved into a unique annual event that not only can deliver economic tourism dollars to a host city but a really special event that locals can enjoy and be part of. Victoria and I are taking the next month to travel to and meet city officials who have extended an interest in hosting Comic Retreat 2012. We will have the 2012 host city announcement by Valentine's Day. Unfortunately the forecasts that the next twenty four months will continue to be challenging economic times force us to secure a host venue partner that has the ability to take us to the next collaborative level." explained Pete O'Neil Managing Director of Sebastian Comedy Society
