The Sports Inc. 2000 team recently sponsored a food drive to support the Center for Food Action in New Jersey. Paul M., the firm's president, discussed this valuable service and the benefits of being socially conscious

“I am pleased with how much the Sports Inc. 2000 crew got behind this food drive,” said Paul. “People brought in food every day for a month. They were really focused on making a hefty donation to the CFA, and they should be proud of their efforts.”

For Paul and the Sports Inc. 2000 team, being involved with groups like the CFA is one of the ways they back up their claim to be leaders in the community. “It’s one thing to say we support our neighbors, but it’s another to follow that claim with action. When asked why he felt so strongly about supporting the CFA, Paul stated, “It’s an incredibly effective organization, and they help a lot of people – which is awesome but also sad, because it means there are that many people who need their help.”

Established in 1976, the Center for Food Action in New Jersey provides emergency food packages, assistance with rent payments and/or late utilities, counseling, and advocacy, along with other vital services that help the less fortunate.

“They have a great mission statement,” Paul continued. “It says, ‘preventing hunger and homelessness and improving the lives of individuals and families in poverty.’ What’s more, they make it happen – in 2009, for example, they distributed about 50,000 emergency food packages, and over 3,000 Thanksgiving meals.”
