Increased X-Ray Capacity for Electronics Inspection and Sorting

BEST Increases capacity for electronics sorting, electronics inspection and non-destructive testing.

BEST X-Ray Inspection System

BEST Inc. announces that it has installed a new x-ray inspection system. The PRO-X110 allows for easy inspection of plated through hole fill calculations, BGA void percentages and ball diameter measurements as well as leadless device void percentage calculations made by the system.

The system features advanced inspection capabilities and an advanced imaging and motion control package. The imaging system includes a digital flat panel display which can display up to a 50 x 50mm area for large field of view images. The tube features a wide beam of 115 degrees and has 110kV tube voltage for imaging thermally massive boards. The software in conjunction with the motion control system can perform step and repeat functionality in order to perform x-ray inspection of PCBs for those who do not have an x-ray system.

The system is available for inspecting a variety of electronic assemblies including PCBs, wire harnesses, raw boards and more. The installation of this x-ray system expands BESTs' production capacity for non-destructive testing as well as electronic sorting services.

"This doubles our capacity in x-ray inspection, electronics sorting and non-destructive testing. Our automotive and consumer product customers are constantly asking for us to perform electronics sorting based on internal inspection criteria as well as the IPC-A-610 standards" commented Dan Patten, general manager at BEST Inc.

These standards are supported by BEST Inc. master instructors who teach the certification standards classes.
