Independence University to Help Military Personnel Succeed in Distance Education

Independence University (IU) to assist Military Personnel and their families with Military Tuition Assistance and other VA benefits that they are entitled for.

Salt Lake City, UT, Mar 08, 2010 - With an aim at helping military personnel succeed in their distance education efforts, Independence University offers them specialized support through a dedicated team of advisors. These experienced advisors will assist members of the military and their families access Military Tuition Assistance and other VA benefits available to them.

"Our military advisors have years of experience enrolling students into our program. They are well educated to assist any potential student obtain the most from their benefits...and this includes spouses (of military personnel)," said Mike Mangelson, Director of Admissions for Independence University.

Active duty military personnel and veterans are entitled to some educational benefit programs such as the GI Bill or the VA education benefits, which include up to 100% tuition fee coverage and $1000 a year for books and supplies among other things, and the Military Tuition Assistance (TA) program that includes 100 percent tuition fee expense paid to eligible members of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard.

The military education advisors at Independence University guide military students and their spouses through the process of obtaining these benefits.

According to Mangelson, "As a whole the military admissions process is more detailed and requires us to understand all aspects of how to qualify a potential student for VA benefits."

In addition to the benefits that active duty military personnel are entitled to, Independence University also offers them a Special Tuition Discount, free course texts, and free shipping and handling of their learning material.

In a bid to make education more accessible to military students, IU accepts DANTES/DSST courses and test scores as also American Council on Education (ACE) credit recommendations for military training and experience.
