Indie Comicbook Company Branching Out Into Film Thanks To Kickstarter.
Online, February 22, 2012 (Newswire.com) - MMarvel comics is about to change the cinematic world with "The Avengers", coming to the movie theaters world wide in may. But then again marvel has the backing of Disney and its own production company and hundreds of millions to spend.
The bulks of comic book companies are small and lack the money or the "name", to attract film companies to their unique characters. Channel M publishing is trying to change this by using Kickstarter to fund a movie based on their comic "Princess Lucinda".
Princess Lucinda, the tale of an evil twelve year old Princess with magical powers is in almost every way the "Anti-Disney Princess", and the top selling character and comic of Channel M. She stands out a world of cookie cutter Princesses who need rescuing she stands out as she tries to conquer a planet we call Earth and make everyone "Obey the Princess".
The Kickstarter, http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/channelm/princess-lucinda-short-film offers not only a chance for fans and others to donate but various prizes for those who post at different levels.
Channel M hopes if they are successful they will inspire other small Comic book companies to do the same and bring their characters out of obscurity to stand along side more well known characters like Spider man, Batman and Iron man.
