Individual Initiatives Amass Remuneration In Rural Development

FTS as an NGO strives for the rural development by providing tribal education. Started in 1989, FTS has campaigned across the nation setting up Ekal Vidyalayas and empowering thetribal people.

India: India has a population of 1.21 billion as recorded in 2011. After the 65 year of our glorious independence, it hurts us when we find that 26% of our total population is still deprived of the light of education, one of the four basic needs and rights of a human being. What we need to do is to provide our people with those basic amenities so that once after few years we won't require instances of other developed countries as examples. The primary concern is about the rural education. We the Friends of Tribal Society (FTS), a voluntary, non government organization believe that education is the primary weapon to rip the darkness of India. Presently our 27 chapters are actively working across the nation for the sake of the rural education as the primary step for their development.

We started our journey on 15th of January, 1989 and arranged a number of projects in Orissa including medical centers, mobile medical van, hostel buildings, training centers and a Hanuman temple. Priorly Sri Shyamji Gupt the visionary and Sangathan Prabhari of the FTS started his campaign in the Phulbani district of Orissa in 1985. Some citizens of Kolkata joined his sacred missions who were called as vanayatries. Later after intense discussions it was decided that fund has to be raised for tribal development. We also decided to set a rural education campaign in Jharkhand and considering the circumstances we set up rural schools as 'one teacher school' or OTS.

Our vision is to develop the rural people of India especially the tribal people who are down trodden in our society by setting up rural schools for completing our goal of rural education of India.

We believe in empowering people by providing the torch of education in their hand to remove the darkness of mind as well as the country in broader sense.

Our campaigns for rural development include:

Providing non-formal primary education through or one teacher rural school named Ekal Vidyalaya.

Providing health education and creating awareness about their basic rights.

FTS was first awarded by the Punjab, Haryana and Delhi Chamber of commerce and industries in 2008 by the hand of the then finance minister sri Pranab Mukherjee. Later Thakkar Bappa award in 2009 by the Govt. of Madhya Pradesh.

United we stand, divided we fall. Donate to FTS, the Indian NGO to help the tribal people for setting up the rural schools to empower rural education. We are not govt. organization. We belong to you, the common people with our own capabilities and a will to do something for the sake of our country. Indian NGO like us has been obtaining the help of people of India and we need your more engagement to realize the importance of the rural school for the rural development. Many organizations, celebrities, industries have stretched their helping hands to us. What we seek is active participation from every part of India to help the Indian NGO. This not only causes a strong reinforcement but will obviously increase our harmony.
