Online, September 15, 2010 (Newswire.com) - International level of education has become a prerequisite qualification for the managers of global enterprises. This has become imperative for management graduates (MBA and BBA students) in India as they have to compete with global talents when they come into field
Indore Management Institute has been promoting and practicing international level of management education at its campus. "We have tied up with foreign universities and institutions to imparting world class education to our students" says Mr. Vivek Tiwari, The Dean at IMI.
This is also a point to note that many institutes advocate the requirement of international level of education for Indian students but they do not really fulfil what it really takes to achieve those standards. "Mere theoretical knowledge or inviting guest faculties from foreign institutes doesn't serve the purpose" say Mr. Tiwari, "we understand the importance of practical education and have incorporated it very well in our syllabus" he adds.
130 MBA students from Indore Management Institute have just returned after a study tour to Singapore. The students participated in course lectures as part of their International Certification from MDIS (Management Development Institute of Singapore) and also visited several industries and revenue authorities of Singapore.
"We had taken our students to James Cook University, Singapore where they came to know about the employment opportunities in Singapore, even for fresher" informs the Dean, "there was an interactive session between JCU and IMI students which was part of their communication skills and awareness training" he adds.
The students were also taken to Newater Plant, Singapore to understand the technological developments and work culture in international industries. "It was a great experience to look at the advanced technologies and operational excellence the way they have been able to bring about in their industries" says a participating MBA student of IMI.
The group also visited some other revenue authorities and public departments in Singapore viz. IRAS (Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore), URDA (Urban and Rural Development Authority of Singapore), National Library of Singapore and many other recreational sites.
"The study tour has been very successful in terms of education and enjoyment both" ends the Dean.
