Infinity Rehab Absorbs 15% CMS Cut to Therapy Services

TUALATIN, Ore., March 17, 2022 (Newswire.com) - Infinity Rehab, a therapy and rehabilitation services company offering physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language therapy, announced it is absorbing the 15% CMS therapy assistant cut announced late last year.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) finalized and implemented an updated Physician Fee Schedule (PFS), which included a 15% cut in reimbursement for services provided by therapy assistants in November 2021. This results in overall lower reimbursement from CMS to providers. The reduction became effective January 2, 2022. 

Infinity Rehab proactively decided to absorb this 15% cut by making the necessary Part B assistant adjustments in our customer billing. This lowers the charges to our customers. Therapy assistants play an essential and valuable role in therapy care and services. This decision was important not only for Infinity Rehab customers but also for maintaining the quality of care needed for patients and residents.
