Inquidia Consulting Releases Pentaho Business Analytics Component for Visual Design of Dynamic Analysis Schemas
Inquidia's new component simplifies development of customized analytics with Pentaho's visual data integration platform.
Chicago, IL, August 31, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Inquidia Consulting today announced the release of a new software component that streamlines creation of dynamic analysis schemas for users of the Pentaho Business Analytics platform. The plugin leverages Pentaho’s extensible architecture, and now allows designers to use Pentaho Data Integration (PDI) to help create richly-customized analytic views.
The plugin enables Pentaho Analyzer sessions to be dynamically generated based on users, roles, or other data attributes. Common use cases include internationalization, multi-tenant customizations, database-driven data authorizations, and dynamic schemas based on variable data sources. For example, in a single shared deployment, users from one company may wish to see certain metrics in their analyses, while users from a different company may wish to see entirely different metrics. Also, for example, a schema can be automatically updated as the underlying structure changes.
Inquidia is constantly streamlining the process to simplify analytics deployments. Our new plugin radically simplifies the creation of dynamic analytics environments in the Pentaho Business Analytics platform.
Chris Deptula, Senior Architect
“At Inquidia, our customers increasingly adopt new and varied data sources and are tackling unique analytical situations,“ said Chris Deptula, senior architect for the Inquidia Labs project. “Inquidia is constantly streamlining the process to simplify analytics deployments. Our new plugin radically simplifies the creation of dynamic analytics environments in the Pentaho Business Analytics platform.”
This plugin is unique because the rules to create the dynamic view can now be developed visually with PDI. During the creation of the schema, designers have access to all data sources, transformation steps and job entries in PDI, enabling virtually unlimited customizations. With the plugin, developers can now create variable schemas with PDI instead of custom Java.
“Pentaho is a leading data integration and business analytics company that helps organizations harness value from all of their data, no matter how complex the environment,” said Chuck Yarbrough, Senior Director of Solutions at Pentaho, a Hitachi Group Company. “Inquidia’s development of the Dynamic Schema Processor plugin is a powerful example of the innovation enabled by Pentaho’s open and extensible architecture.”
The plugin is simple to install on the Pentaho Business Analytics server. Then, once a data source is enabled to use the plugin libraries, analysis schemas that use the Mondrian engine are customized at runtime using the existing Kettle and other Pentaho libraries for Dynamic Schema Processing.
The plugin is designed for users of the Pentaho Business Analytics 6.x server, and is currently available on GitHub.
