Integrated Management Systems Announces Solid Results with Pacific Paper Using Labor Performance
Online, January 30, 2011 (Newswire.com) - KENT, WA- Integrated Management Systems (IMS), a leading warehouse and distribution outsourcing firm, today announced strong results for Pacific Paper, a customer using its Labor Performance LMS software.
Pacific Paper, a manufacturer of high quality paper products for 50 years, started using Labor Performance LMS in the fall of 2009. Labor productivity at Pacific Paper has increased 29% and labor costs have decreased by 18.9%.
Labor Performance LMS is a powerful performance management system for small and medium sized operations. It combines detailed performance metrics, incentive programs, and production forecasting into a powerful, simple to use, web-based program that can substantially lower labor costs while improving compensation.
"Pacific Paper was the first machine driven operation where we implemented Labor Performance," said Dean Dorcas, CEO of IMS. "The employees could impact the down time of the machines and the time spent on changeovers, but they couldn't affect the actual speed of the machines. For this reason, and the fact that the company already had labor standards in place, we did not anticipate our normal leap in productivity. The management team at Pacific Paper did a great job of using the tools to train and motivate their employees to improve their performance, and the company was able to achieve results that were similar to our non-automated customers," he said.
