Intel, Leidos, AIG Execs Share Insights on Business Integrity to Further Global Collaboration

Interviews Provide Sneak Peek into the Upcoming 10th Annual Global Ethics Summit
The Ethisphere Institute

The Ethisphere Institute, a global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices, is gearing up for its 10th Annual Global Ethics Summit, to be held March 14-15 at the Grand Hyatt in New York City. As a preview to the main event, the Ethisphere Institute recorded an informative series of interviews with leading faculty promoting their roles and expectations as panelists and has published them in the form of short podcasts.

The Global Ethics Summit is the premier annual event where CEOs, Board Members, Chief Legal Officers/General Counsels, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officers and other business influencers with a diverse set of experiences gather to share best practices in building ethical businesses and continuously improving corporate behavior. Representatives from U.S. companies as well as multi-nationals attend the summit to learn from an eclectic set of practitioners and to network with professionals who face challenges similar to their own.

Last year, I came away feeling energized and inspired by the people that I met and also the programs I attended, with a very long list of ideas and action items to put into practice at Leidos.

“The Global Ethics Summit consistently delivers a diverse and experienced group of prestigious speakers and attendees across all industries,” said Michelle Brown, SVP, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer and Deputy General Counsel at Leidos. “Last year, I came away feeling energized and inspired by the people that I met and also the programs I attended, with a very long list of ideas and action items to put into practice at Leidos.”

Additional companies contributing to the growing list of engaging faculty at the Global Ethics Summit include Microsoft, 3M, Walmart, Aflac, Dell, GE, Ingredion Incorporated, Nokia, Kimberly-Clark, U.S. Bancorp, L’Oréal, JLL, Eli Lilly, Dun & Bradstreet, PepsiCo, L3 Technologies, Emergent BioSolutions, Salesforce, Voya Financial, Louis Berger, Yamana Gold, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, ManpowerGroup, PwC, Whirlpool Corporation, Praxair and more. The 70-plus member faculty anchors conversations with a delegation of close to 500 influencers at this one-of-a-kind assembly.

“It’s astonishing to me how Compliance Officers can instantly bond while talking about shared challenges — we’ve all been there,” said Callie Pappas, Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer & Deputy General Counsel for Schnitzer Steel. “In my opinion, the best part of the Global Ethics Summit is meeting and hearing from others in the field.”

The Global Ethics Summit podcasts are designed as exclusive one-on-one interviews with leaders helping to enrich the conversations at this year’s Summit and are a prelude to what attendees should expect from a number of interactive sessions. The faculty featured on these podcasts discuss their history of work, career insights, industry-specific challenges and emerging themes impacting executive leaders and company culture in today’s global business climate.

As the list continues to grow, the current podcast series includes interviews with the following business influencers:

  • Gayle Sheppard, Vice President, New Technology Group, General Manager, Saffron AI Group, Intel Corporation
  • Lucy Fato, Executive Vice President, General Counsel, AIG
  • Callie Pappas, Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer & Deputy General Counsel, Schnitzer Steel Industries
  • Michelle Brown, SVP, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer, Leidos

“This Summit is really like no other conference in terms of how refreshingly candid the leaders are in their insights, guidance and conversations. This is truly a special class of connected leadership,” Ethisphere Vice President of Global Thought Leadership and Programs Kevin McCormack said. “The way in which peers are increasingly willing to benchmark and challenge one another tells us that the path to greater integrity and continuous improvement can only be accomplished through an exchange of vision and values. And this works at an event like this because it is so authentic.”

Highlighting their commitment to operating ethical businesses, Intel Corporation, AIG, Schnitzer Steel and Leidos are members of Ethisphere’s Business Ethics Leadership Alliance (BELA). BELA was founded with the notion that companies, regardless of industry, face many common and often complex issues in some of the most challenging regions in the world. By bridging the divide that companies often encounter, BELA has been at the forefront of connecting like-minded leaders on themes that matter most.
