InterAmerican College Announces Addition of Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree to its Curriculum
Online, April 10, 2010 (Newswire.com) - The curriculum at InterAmerican College in National City is expanding with the addition of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. The BSN is a four year academic degree in the science and principals of nursing. The new education program is being called a huge benefit for underserved students, especially from the San Diego area and Southern California, who want to enter the nursing profession.
The Senior Accrediting Commission of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) approved a substantive change proposal to include the BSN degree program as part of the approved degree programs of InterAmerican College.
"The WASC approval is an important development for the nursing profession", said Dr. Yoram Neumman, the President and Chief Executive Officer of InterAmerican College. He added, "It is estimated that by the year 2020 there will be a shortage of 800,000 nurses. The healthcare field is one of the fastest growing career choices today and at InterAmerican College we are determined to provide the industry with the finest educated nurses".
InterAmerican College provides bilingual instruction which allows its nursing graduates to work in a variety of multicultural health care settings. The addition of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing follows the recent approval of IAC's Master of Science in Nursing Program by the Board of Registered Nursing in California.
