“I’m pleased to acknowledge Debbie’s outstanding leadership abilities,” said IPDN President and IAW Spokesperson Star Jones. “Her knowledge and experience are valuable assets to her Chapter, its members and the local community.”

Debbie Luxton, CEO of One Life to THRIVE, LLC, is a Life Coach and Certified Leadership Coach, Author, Women’s Retreat Leader and Business Owner. Nearly two years ago, she added the role of President of IAW’s St. Louis Chapter to her resume.

“I always gravitate quickly to women in need through a leadership role,” Ms. Luxton said. “I wanted to see a successful community here for women. I am passionate about giving back and serving others as God leads me.”

As President, Ms. Luxton is instrumental in keeping the Chapter active. “We haven’t missed a monthly meeting in almost two years,” she said. “We’ve continually received positive feedback about the great take-aways that come from our 'connections and community'
exercise/discussions.”

With a full calendar of events and initiatives set for 2019, Ms. Luxton and her leadership team have already started to discuss plans for 2020. “In June, we are holding our first philanthropic event,” she added. “I am very thankful to give back to the community in this way!”

Ms. Luxton, who says she has always been inspired by the unconditional love and inner strength of her mother and grandmother, has enjoyed a highly successful 30-year corporate career. After retirement, she went on to build a successful business as an entrepreneur. In addition to her role as a Life Coach and Certified Leadership Coach, she is also the Author of the book, Choose to Thrive: Conquering Your Inner Conflicts. Ms. Luxton’s latest passion is “helping pastors wives embrace their influence.”

“I will have a pastors wives retreat offering soon,” she said. “I’m currently finalizing some things. The information will be available on my website. I am also interested in meeting pastors wives who would like to discuss coaching/retreats.

Ms. Luxton has a number of both professional and personal future plans, including formalizing service to pastors wives through coaching and retreats; updating and republishing her book; climbing her first “14er,” a Rocky Mountain that is 14,000 feet or more, on her 60th birthday in August; and offering a new virtual group for women based on her pilot program that ended in May. “This group will be an intimate place for women leaders to share safely,” Ms. Luxton added.
