International Foodsource Buys A Second WeighPack System
International Foodsource, LLC took delivery of an XPDIUS 1200 vertical form fill machine and a PrimoWeigher this last February and have successfully installed and the production results exceeded expectations.
Online, March 25, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Trevor Dawe, territory manager at WeighPack Systems reported receiving a phone call recently from David Lipson, Founder and CEO of International Foodsource, LLC in Dover,New Jersey complimenting WeighPack for having delivered a high quality weighing and bagging system that exceeded the performance expectations. A major processor and packager of nuts, dried fruit and grains International Food Source operates multiple lines of similar packaging equipment supplied by other vendors. After the start up of the XPdius bagger and PrimoWeigher it became obvious that the investment and choice was well worth it. The system can easily produce over 100 bags per minute at accuracies within 1 gram on average.
The Primo360 software installed to operate the weigher comes bundled with reporting software that offers effective yield and cost control management. International Food Source package hundreds of different products in many different formats. Machines must be flexible, easy to changeover and most important is easy to clean and service. The WeighPack System meets all these criteria. The bar code scanner easily recalls product setup so going from one product to another or one size to another takes seconds with unskilled labour. Clean up time is reduced to a minimum with the open frame, individual slide chutes on the PrimoWeigher. The complete machine can be flushed out without the use of tools and within minutes. Both the XPdius and the PrimoWeigher are manufactured mostly of stainless steel and will never look old. These machines will retain value as there is no paint that will chip and show rust.
Both the XPdius and the PrimoWeigher use colour touch screens to activate and operate the machines. Te interface logic between the bagger and the scale is optimized with a logic of timed anticipation of product drop time from the scale to the bag. This logic eliminates the need of using a timing box between scale and bagger and achieves the highest possible speed.
David Lipson of International Food Source has many years experience with packaging machinery, has purchased and installed several brands and is a savy machine user. It took David Lipson less than one month of using this new system to realize that the investment was worth repeating and replace existing machines with more state of the art WeighPack Systems.
