Internet Radio Channel Releases Free Digital Only Album!
Eyes Sewn Shut Radio, a leading extreme metal media channel, has released a compilation album in a new and innovative format. This release is testing the market for "digital only" releases and showing surprising results.
Online, January 24, 2011 (Newswire.com) - NoEX Productions is well known for innovation and pushing the boundaries of "conventional" music industry thinking. This week the company applied this radical approach to a new project released by their extreme metal media channel, Eyes Sewn Shut Radio.
Atrocity 2011 is the latest compilation put together and distributed by Eyes Sewn Shut Radio and this time it is a digital only release.
"We are looking at several different things with this release" states VP or Marketing Andrew Burton. "Our main goal is to get the 12 bands on this compilation in front of as many music fans as possible. On the other hand we are exploring the viability of digital only releases for future releases from the record labels we operate" explained Burton.
"It is no secret that CD sales are plummeting and digital sales are rising. The companies and artists that adapt and harness new media markets are the ones that will survive and even flourish in a new music media economy" adds NoEX Founder and CEO Jay Burton.
Atrocity 2011 is a digital release being distributed in new ways. Over 2500 digital download cards are being distributed in partnership with Soundtrax. These cards are being distributed by the bands on the album, select stores as giveaway items, and at events all over the US and Europe. AMP Magazine is currently offering a download site for the compilation at AMPMagazine.com. The Eyes Sewn Shut Radio website has a direct download link at www.EyesSewnShutRadio.com, as well as most torrent sites, music blogs and other destinations are spreading the collection to music fans.
"With new technology emerging daily and the increase in smart phone, ipad, and portable media owners, we can guarantee that digital music is going to continue to outgrow cd sales. I recently reviewed an in car 4g connected media device. Add that to production and people will be listening to online radio and downloading music to their car hard drive. NoEX intends to be a leader in harnessing these new technologies." concluded Jay Burton.
Atrocity 2011 is a 12 track album featuring metal based genre bands and is available everywhere for free.
