Interpol Chief's Identity Stolen On Facebook

In the age of social-networking, is our trust making us too vulnerable?

It's a theme explored in a gritty, yet humorous new novel by British author Alex Ford. Published earlier this year for Kindle, iPad, Nook and other ebook readers, The Friend Request is a dark tale about what can happen when information shared on a Facebook Profile is hijacked and used with malicious intent.
It's a familiar enough story - you receive a friend request, you recognise the name and the profile picture, so you click on accept - in the process allowing that 'friend' access to the personal details of your life. But how sure are you that the profile is genuine and the person is who they claim to be?
Fortunately for most of us, the revenge and destruction played-out in Alex Ford's novel will remain fiction, but for some, reality is stranger than fiction.

The Friend Request is available at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble and the iBook store.
