Invents Introduces "Enviro Guard II", Balance Spread Area When Fertilizing Lawn

The Enviro Guard II works equally well for home gardeners, commercial and residential landscaping and lawn maintenance firms.

Commercial and residential landscapers, lawn maintenance firms, and home gardeners know that spreading fertilizers, pesticides, and other materials is often needed. A problem arises when these materials are spread unintentionally into areas where they will do harm or create excess mess, such as on sidewalks, instead of being spread on the intended areas. One way to ensure that environmental agents are applied to intended areas only is with the Enviro Guard II. The Enviro Guard II is used with a variety of push-type garden and broadcast spreaders and is designed to restrict and control the radius to which these implements spread materials, such as fertilizer, salt, sand, and pesticides. An add-on, aftermarket accessory, the Enviro Guard II acts as a shunting device or fender and can be fine-tuned to restrict the spread materials to a specific area, keeping these environmental agents where they are needed and preventing their migration (through rainwater runoff) to areas where they will cause harm.

A simple, versatile accessory for a wide range of walk-behind, manual spreaders, the Enviro Guard II mounts easily and securely to a spreader's hopper. It can be easily adjusted to fine-tune the radius to which spread materials are cast. For a strip of lawn between a sidewalk and curb, one can set the Enviro Guard II to a short radius, casting the material in a narrow cone. For a larger area such as an open lawn, one lifts the restricting or shunting panels to permit wider dispersal or one may even lift them entirely out of the way and up against the panels of the mounting section.

The Enviro Guard II is versatile and can be used as a broadcast spreader or as a narrow-focus spreader. It works perfectly spreading materials because of its fine-tuning ability."

Joseph Bianco, Inventor

The Patent Pending Enviro Guard II was invented by an experienced turf-management expert, Joseph Bianco, of N. Brunswick, NJ, who said, “The versatility of the Enviro Guard II comes in two respects. First, the accessory can be used with a variety of spreaders in different sizes and produced in different designs by different manufacturers. Second, the Enviro Guard II is versatile in the sense that it allows a spreader to be used as a broadcast spreader and as a narrow-focus spreader.”
