The Patent Pending Water Buddy was invented by Kari Fernandez of San Jose, CA, who said, “Fabricated of a durable foam material and enhanced with a secondary plastic or similar material for waterproofing, the Water Buddy has a liquid crystal display (LCD) screen for playing video content from DVDs as well as displaying game graphics transmitted from a smart phone or similar device. A series of speakers surround the screen and the area below the screen boasts a series of waterproofed rectangular niches, which serve as “docking stations” for both protecting and operating the devices. A wireless communication device allows pool users to communicate with persons inside the home via a companion receiving unit.

Kari added, “Power is provided via an internal battery source or a solar panel. An underwater camera located at the base of the unit allows viewing children underwater for fun and for supervision. Also, a propeller and optional rudder can be included at the base of the unit so the device can be remotely controlled. It works perfectly.”
