IPFonline Launches 'Renewable Energy India Forum' To Showcase The Potential Of Renewable Energy Sources In India

Marking the beginning of this pioneering effort, Renewable Energy India Forum hosted their first conference today devoted to 'Solar Energy' at The LaLit in New Delhi and will continue till 22nd September, 2010. With the alarming rise in the consumption of energy in the country, India is increasingly dependent on fossil fuels such as coal and oil & gas. But with the global rising prices of oil and gas and potential shortages in future lead to concerns about the security of energy supply, which is critical for sustainable economic growth. • India is endowed with enormous solar energy potential. About 5,000 trillion kWh per year energy is incident over India's land area with most parts receiving 4-7 kWh per sq. m per day.
